The Virginia Baptist Foundation has awarded scholarships to 28 recipients for the 2006/07 academic year, according to Ricky R. Hurst, director of donor relations for the Foundation.
The scholarship committee of the Foundation awarded these scholarships at its recent annual meeting. Among the 28 recipients, 17 are undergraduate students and 11 are graduate students. Members of the scholarship committee are A. Ray Pentecost Jr., chair; Pascal D. (Pat) Brooks; Ann F. Brown; Jacqueline L. Haney, and William E. (Gene) Watson, ex officio & chair of the board of trustees. The following lists name the undergraduate and graduate scholarship recipients and their hometowns: Undergraduate:

The generosity of Virginia Baptists makes scholarships possible each year to deserving students. A variety of educational institutions are represented among the recipients, including Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Bluefield College, Carson-Newman College, Christopher Newport University, Eastern Mennonite University, East Tennessee State University, Gardner-Webb University, Old Dominion University, James Madison University, University of Mary Washington, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, the College of William & Mary and Wingate University. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply for scholarships from the Virginia Baptist Foundation each year.
