“Christianity is a faith and not a musical genre.”
Chad Butler
The drummer in the band Switchfoot was discussing with the Dallas Observer the group's reluctance to describe themselves as a “Christian band.”

“An alternate name and the election of a president of color—both laudable steps forward in the pursuit of racial harmony—will not ultimately solve the Southern Baptist Convention's race problem. Southern Baptists need a change of heart.”
Jonathan Merritt
The Southern Baptist culture observer and author was writing in the Huffington Post about controversial comments made by Southern Baptist Convention leader Richard Land and his denomination’s attitude toward race.

“The church of Jesus Christ in the Western world is in terrible shape. Conservatives confuse certainty with faith. Liberals think knowledge alone is redemptive. We’ve got to come together.”
Robin Meyers
The author of The Underground Church was quoted by the Birmingham News.
