Staff Changes Mark Miller, to Shalom Church, Mechanicsville, as senior pastor, effective Feb. 1. Nicholas Pierce, to Piedmont Church, Amelia, as pastor. Wayne Collis, to Gordonsville Church, Gordonsville, as pastor. Jeff Sowers has joined the launch team of Real Life Community Church, Stafford, as teaching pastor. Tim Mink, to North Bedford Church, Forest, as transitional pastor. Todd DeFore, to Biltmore Church, Glen Allen, as interim minister of music. Mike Logan, now serving as interim youth minister at Harrisonburg Church, Harrisonburg. Sarah Roberts, to Rosalind Hills Church, Roanoke, as minister to senior adults. Retirements Charles Jones has retired as pastor of Rings Chapel Church, Castlewood. Dallas Stallings has announced plans to retire as pastor of Haymarket Church, Haymarket, in September. Graduate Layne C. Falkenberg from Virginia received the master of arts in marriage and family counseling degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 9. Death Virginia Baptist James B. Crocker died on Dec. 11 in Suffolk. He had served as a pastor for 45 years, having started his ministry at Tabernacle Church in Suffolk. He also served as pastor of Wakefield Church, Wakefield; the Virginia Avenue Baptist Mission (now West Side Church in Harrisonburg); First View Church, Norfolk; Gibeon Church, Village; and Windsor Church, Windsor. For the past eight years he has served as pastor of Clover Bottom Church in Nathalie. He is survived by hiw wife, Minnie Ann Carr Crocker; two daughters, Debra C. Perry and Mary Sue MacKenzie; two grandchildren; a brother; and nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held Dec. 15 at Central Hill Church, Windsor. Church News Antioch Church, Unionville, will hold a Red Cross Blood Drive on Jan. 19 from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. Azalea Church,Norfolk, will host an evening of goepsl music by the Toney Brothers from Nashville, Tenn., on Sat., Jan. 28 at 7:00 p.m. A love offering will be taken. For more information call 757-639-8088. Bethel Church, Falmouth, will hold a dedication service for its new fellowship hall and activity center on Jan 15 at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow. Associational News Murphy Terry has announced plans to retire as director of missions for Goshen Association, effective Feb. 28. He has served in this position for 13 years.
