After 24 years as youth strategist, Ken Dibble to retire Print E-mail

RICHMOND, Va.—After 24 years’ service to the Virginia Baptist Mission Board, Ken Dibble has announced plans to retire, effective Dec. 31.

Dibble has been the board’s youth ministry strategist since 1989. In that role he has focused on providing support and resources to Baptist General Association of Virginia churches and to equip young emerging leaders through the board's emerging leaders team.

He has also been responsible for various statewide youth ministry events including Senior High Weekend, Junior High Weekend, Youth Ministry Forum, “Consider Your Call” Sunday and regional Youth Encounter events held at various times throughout the year.

Most recently, he initiated a youth ministry certification program that is set to begin this fall.

Dibble has served as the VBMB liaison to the Virginia Baptist Youth Minister’s Association and has been coordinator of the Youth Ministry Coordination Team.

Dibble was minister of youth at First Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va., when he joined the staff of the VBMB. Earlier he was minister of youth and recreation at Carmel Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C.

He holds master’s degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Radford (Va.) University, and a doctor of ministry degree from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.
