MURFREESBORO, N.C. -- Marcus Hamilton, award-winning cartoonist of Dennis the Menace, and Christian humorist pastor Roger Hensley, will be featured guests at this year’s SeniorFest on Thursday, March 31, at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C. The event will include lunch, music, breakout sessions and more.

Hamilton began a career as a freelance illustrator doing artwork for such publications as Golf Digest and the Saturday Evening Post. In 1993 his career took an abrupt turn when he responded to a television interview in which Hank Ketcham, creator of Dennis the Menace, suggested he would retire. Over a three-year period, Ketcham trained Hamilton to take over the daily cartoon panel which is syndicated worldwide.

Christian humorist Roger Hensley is long-time pastor of First Baptist Church in Jonesville, N.C. A former Chowan student, he has led several senior adult retreats.

There is a $12 registration fee per person. Reservations are required by Thursday, March 24. For more information on Senior Fest, contact Chowan’s University’s director of church relations Jarrett Banks at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  or 252.398.6317.
