The Religious Herald, a newspaper for Baptists in the Mid-Atlantic region, is a 24-page tabloid size newspaper published bi-weekly. The majority of its readers are members of the more than 2,000 congregations in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Our reader profile consists of pastors, church staff and key church leaders.

Frequency/Deadline
We publish 25 issues in 2013.
Publication dates are: Jan. 14, Jan. 28, Feb. 11, Feb. 25, March 11, March 25, April 8, April 29, May 6, May 20, June 3, June 17, July 15, July 29, Aug. 12, Aug. 26, Sept. 9, Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Nov. 11, Nov. 25, Dec. 9, Dec. 23. Deadline for submission of copy is one week prior to publication date.

Display advertising
Our print display advertising rates are $22/column inch for black & white ads and $27.50/column inch for color ads. We offer a 10 percent discount for display ads placed in three or more issues. Digital advertising
The Herald offers advertising on its website, which averages 12,000 unique hits per month. A large top banner ad (468 x 60 pixels) $150/month; small top banner ad (234 x 60 pixels) $100/month, large side box ad (120 x 600) $150/month, small side box ad (120 x 200 pixels) $100/month. Web rates are based on a standard 30-day month and include linking advertiser’s ad to their website.

Digital sponsorship ads are available on the Herald’s News Alerts (daily & week-end) and its digital e-version emailed to 2,500+ subscribers. Dimensions of sponsor ads are 468 x 120 pixels and should be submitted as jpeg files. Cost is $100 for 10 postings; $175 for 20 postings; $250 for 30 postings. Sponsor ads include link to advertiser’s website and are posted in rotation with other sponsor ads. Combinations of web & sponsorship ads are available.

Church events advertising
The Herald offers a reduced rate for churches wishing to place small display ads for conferences, retreats and special events taking place the the church. Classified advertising
Classified ads are available at 75 cents per word ($25 minimum). Classifieds for commercial firms and churches or organizations desiring a boxed classified are $1.25 per word ($35 minimum). A 10 percent discount is offered for classifieds placed in three or more issues. All classifieds are posted on our website, free of charge, for the number of weeks they print in the paper.

Advertising options are available also through New Voice Media, a partnership between the Religious Herald and the Baptist Standard in Texas, the Word & Way in Missouri and Associated Baptist Press. Rates are available on request.
