“We have one suggestion for Baptist Christians -- that they avoid words to describe evangelism (or telling the gospel story) which appear threatening to others, such as ‘evangelistic crusades.' Nor is it necessary to be critical of another faith in order to commend what we believe to be true in ours; the story of Jesus has power to persuade in its own right.”
From a BWA letter

“The Lord said, ‘He's going to get anything he wants.' ”
Pat Robertson
The Virginia evangelist was describing a message he said he received from God that “nothing will stand in the way” of President-elect Obama's plan to restructure the economy and that Americans will “welcome socialism in order to relieve their pain.” (ABP)
