Rhonda Nash has been named Baptist campus minister at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg.
Nash, who has been interim campus minister for the past two years, assumed full-time responsibility on Aug. 1.
The Wise, Va., native was associate pastor of Hull's Memorial Baptist Church in Fredericksburg from 1993-2002 and earlier was minister of education and youth at a church in Kentucky.
Nash holds a bachelor of arts degree in dramatic arts and French from Mary Washington and a master of divinity/Christian education from Southern Baptist Theological Semiary in Louisville, Ky.
She served as a missionary journeyman in Tanzania with the Southern Baptist Convention's International Mission Board from 1982-84 and was an IMB drama, TV and video training consultant in Papua New Guinea from 1989-90.
She also has worked with the Baptist campus ministry at Mountain Empire Community College in Big Stone Gap, Va.
She has been a member of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board and has been active in the Virginia Baptist Youth Ministers Association and Virginia Baptist Women in Ministry.
