Our church is in a capital campaign. The goal was $700,000. Two weeks ago we were about $5,000 short of meeting it. I told the congregation that if we met the goal by a certain Sunday, I would sing Hail to the Redskins at the close of our next business meeting.
Now, you need to understand I bleed Dallas Cowboys silver and blue. Needless to say the congregation got a hold of it and raised about $7,000 in two weeks. It also happened to be the highest-attended business meeting ever! Click on www.bealembc.org to find our church’s website. We are in the process of updating it and our webmaster took this opportunity to update a video which I didn’t know was being taken at the business meeting. It is mercifully brief. You will want to watch it on a high speed internet connection. Enjoy!
