John Brewster, pastor of New Hope Church, Shacklesfords, was ordained to the gospel ministry on Nov. 7 by Harmony Grove Church, Topping.

Ruth Clowater will be ordained to the gospel ministry by Beaver Dam Church, Troy, on Dec. 5.

Terry McMillian, pastor of Rome Church, Hillsville, was recently ordained to the gospel ministry by Oak Grove Church, Cana.

Azalea Church, Norfolk, will host an evening of gospel music with The New Harvest Trio on Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Orphans from Kiev, Ukraine, will be performing the classical Christmas musical, “The Old Russian Shoemaker,” on Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Black Creek Church, Mechanicsville. For additional information call the church at 804-781-0330.

Derbyshire Church, Richmond, will host the Golden Tones in a worship concert, “Jesus Is My Song of Grace,” Nov. 21 at 6:00 p.m. This 46-member senior adult choir is directed by Christine Moore and accompanied by David Schwoebel.

Mount View Church, Charlottesville, will hold revival services Nov. 28-Dec. 1 with Roger Roller as guest evangelist.

Oak Hall Church, Sandston, will host “An Evening of Piano Praise & Worship” with Barry Burijon on Nov. 28 at 6:00 p.m.

D E A T H

Georgianna Ellis Griffith died Oct. 26 in Roanoke. She was the wife of retired Virginia Baptist pastor R. Bruce Griffith Jr. and was actively involved in the churches which he served. She also trained teachers in children's ministries at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center through the Virginia Baptist Mission Board. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Rodney B, and Mark E. Griffith; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister. A memorial service was held at Melrose Church in Roanoke on Oct. 29.
