Three Virginia Baptist leaders were among the more than 80 leaders from 40 Baptist organizations in the United States and Canada who met Jan. 9 in Atlanta.
John Upton, executive director of the Baptist General Association of Virginia; Jerry Jones, team leader of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board's glocal missions and evangelism team; and Beth Fogg, a Richmond laywoman and former BGAV president, joined others from across the continent to celebrate “a new Baptist covenant.”
“It's an exciting thing to see 40 Baptist bodies coming together to focus on kingdom work together,” Upton told the Religious Herald. “We are very appreciative of President Carter for taking the initiative and we hope that all Baptist bodies in America will contribute to the process.”
