Virginia Baptist Mission Board

Sandi Moseley has many spiritual gifts of administration, teaching and mercy. She has a passion for children and families.

Moseley has responded to the request from the Virginia Baptist Mission Board to serve as volunteer coordinator for the new Children's Ministry Disaster Relief Unit. As volunteer coordinator, Moseley will work closely with Terry Raines, disaster relief coordinator, to recruit, equip and call out volunteers to minister to babies through 8 years old in disaster response situations.

Before joining the ministerial team at Great Bridge Baptist Church in Chesapeake as children's minister, Moseley taught elementary children in the Chesapeake public school system.

When asked her reasons for responding to this call from God to use her gifts and skills in ministering to children and their families during times of natural disasters, she answered, “My husband [Barry] and I have always felt that God was preparing us for mission work. We have tried faithfully to follow his leading in our lives and have been amazed by the opportunities God has given us.”

Moseley has equipped herself in disaster relief through the workshops offered by the Norfolk Baptist Association, receiving yellow hat training. She organized church mission trips to Sliddell, La., this spring. She participated in disaster relief for emergency childcare provided by the North Carolina Baptist Men's Department.

“I love children and have a desire to serve Christ,” Moseley said. “Children's ministry disaster relief gives me the opportunity to serve Christ by sharing his love with children who are in need of a hug and a smile.”
