North American Baptist Fellowship retools disaster-relief network to enhance communication

Members of the North American Baptist Fellowship Disaster Response Network agreed during a conference call Feb. 7 to issue more uniform and consistent e-mail reports from disaster areas. The idea is to enable members to know how they can help in regions where they lack a strong church presence.
 
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, American Baptist Churches explore closer ties

Leaders of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the American Baptist Churches USA met recently in Philadelphia and Atlanta to explore closer cooperation between the two groups, interim coordinator Pat Anderson told the CBF Coordinating Council Feb. 22.

Hawkins told members of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee that changing the entity’s ministry assignment to make its investment and insurance products available to church members would benefit Southern Baptists, the denomination’s news service has reported.

Moderate heritage group to cease operations

A society formed 20 years ago to chronicle history of the South­ern Baptist Convention from the moderate perspective during the last two decades of the 20th century has ended its operations and given a $10,000 gift endowment to fund a series of legacy articles in the monthly news magazine Baptists Today.
