Before the end of April, the Htoo family will be able to hang the welcome sign on their newly-constructed house just outside of Richmond, Va. The home is an answer to prayer for the family which spent 10 years in a refugee camp.

Doug Hart is a 29-year-old member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Richmond, Va.,  a husband, a father of three children and an industrial plumber. During the past several months his life has been turned upside down with the diagnosis of a debilitating disease called ocular histoplasmosis.

Twenty years ago, Jo Saxton surveyed the city of Sheffield, England, and realized she faced a formidable task. The college pastor of St. Thomas’ Church, an Anglican congregation, Saxton was ministering in a city studded with large churches and cathedrals but in which only 2 percent of the population attended religious services. Years of economic depression had left their mark on the once thriving community in South Yorkshire.
 
Culture requires new mission approaches, says leader

An increasingly diverse Western culture requires Christians to rethink the way they define “church,” an Anglican bishop told participants at the March 16-17 inaugural national gathering of Fresh Expressions. Bishop Graham Cray spoke to about 300 participants in the movement to help churches engage their postmodern culture through new creative communities of faith.
 
For first time, Averett to host Passport camp
